• Becoming a volunteer in India

Providing children from underprivileged families with a qualified education is the core objective of BIKI (short for Bildung International Kinderhilfe Indien/International Schooling Support for Kids in India).

We believe that education works best within a framework of dialogue and interaction. The success of the Pankh school project relies on cooperation and exchange. For this reason our exchange program has become an important part in assisting the school to provide excellent education.

We are looking for volunteers interested in personally supporting the children at the Pankh school in Rishikesh. To ensure a great experience for the BIKI volunteers and the students and staff members of the Pankh school alike, we suggest the volunteer meet the following requirements:

    – you are able to communicate fluently in English

    – while travelling in India, you should allot 1-3 weeks for your time at the Pankh school

    – in preparation for your stay at the Pankh school you can consult with us concerning what you would like to contribute, e.g. teach German or English, give a crafts workshop, cook or play sports with the kids.

Full board and comfortable rooms at the school principal’s home are available to the volunteers for 50 Euros per week.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.  Help us to help these children!
